& Seagrave area news Holidays they say are for relaxation and that is just what most of us are doing. This week's column will be mainly a mixture of two weeks visitings. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Wal- lace of Bolton here to attend Roy Scott's funeral remain- ed over the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Keen then on Sunday Mrs. Cora Moase of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moase arrived for a visit there. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Topp- ing of Montreal also here for the funeral stayed with Mrs. Scott for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Les Third were really busy entertain- ing last week. On Wed. they had Mr. and Mrs. Art Miller of- Agincourt and Mr. Nat Hicks and friend of Picton as supper guests. On the week end they entertained Mrs. Della Spring of Langstaff, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Third, Ginny, Val and Scott of Calgary, Mr. and Mrs. B. Third and Lori of Janetville and Mr. and Mrs. E. Cooper of Greensville. Quite a gath- ering! This week the Thirds went calling on their aunt Mrs. E. Bennet of West Hill. The Wrays were the family who didn't appreciate the week end showers. Their phone, radio, T.V. ete. were knocked out by lightning. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Nod- well had a day in Hamilton last week with their daugh- ter and family. Mrs. Gladys Short's family are the busy folks right now. The Twiners and Miss Shir- ley have returned safely from the maritimes. During the week Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Patterson arrived from Manitoba for a visit and to take in the festivities connected with the marriage of Miss Brenda MacGillwray next Saturday. All the ladies were on hand for a trousseau tea held last Saturday even- ing in Sunderland. Sunday was Mr. and Mrs. Jack Short's day for enter- taining so they had the Seagrave members of the immediate families plus a few extras. They were: Mr. and Mrs. H. Miss Bonnie Short is off on another camping expedition She accompanied friend Karen Solomon: and her parents of Port Perry to somewhere down east for 10 days or so. The Tobins were enter- tained by their grandson Shane Coxworth of Uxbridge last week and he was back again this Sunday with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wilson of Port Perry spent Sunday afternoon at the Clements - Belair home. Bill Wanamaker's store- keeping duties are over for another year. His father and mother have returned trom a week's trip through the east- ern slates to Lake Placid and home through southern Ontario. Young Robert and Paul Wanamaker have started visiting now. They spent several days with the Ron: Wanamakers in Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. Reg Abra- ham left by rail last week for B.C. where they will visit son Barry and his family. Did they check for railway strikes this time? Mr. and Mrs. Herb Payne and family are now on. a holiday trip to Quebec. Only a few persons (the usual ones of course) had time to spend 34 of an hour at Sunday service.
