"All about at Brooklin The recently completed" country wide survey '"'Nutri- tion Canada" pinpointed nutritional problems of Can- adians and indicated where remedies may lie. At nutrition workshops scheduled throughout the province of Ontario, the results of this survey are used as a basis for discussion and an indepth look at the food we eat and its effect on our health. The wide range of topics relating to nutrition and food habits include nutrients and their functions, shopping and budgeting for nutrition, health protection and labelling and special interest groups. Active participation has been planned into the program through songs, displays, games, group activities and group discussions. Mayor Des Newman of Whitby told regional council that last year assessment grew by 6 mil- lion dollars, yet in the first six months of this year it only increased by $1.3 mil- lion. Mr. Newman pointed out that the opposite had hap- pened in Oshawa and that Oshawa was already ahead of last year's total growth. The region assumed res- ponsibility for industrial de- velopment on January 1, 1974 and Mr. Newman felt this had something to do with the decline in growth in Whitby.
