FS Nu AN PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1974 -- 27 Nestleton, Caesarea and area news / The members of the Caesarea T.0.P.S. club éer- tainly spend their Monday evenings in a most reward- ng way, (being _figure con- scious) which the majority of women are. The ladies all participated in a contest that commenced on July through September ninth, inluc- sively. "This was quite a challenge to each member. For the month of July the winner for losing 8 '% lbs. was Pat Clancy. Elna Forsy- the lost 3'% lbs. 'during August. Sandy Day's total weight loss for September was 4'> lbs. The proud winner for the three months, in total weight loss was Elna Forsythe. Congratulations Elna. Well done girls. In early Spring, the club had one K.0.P.S. (Keep off /pounds sensibly) in the per- son of Sue Fowler. She still retains that honour, but has a little competition as her Mother, Mrs. Bernice Tenn- yson has less than a month to go to be the second K.0.P.S in the Caesarea group. In order to retain this honoured title a gal must not regain a pound of the weight she lost. That is a rather difficult chore with all the calorie infested 'goodies' that are so tempting. To any of you ladies that can not take diet pills, meet with the ladies on Monday evenings in the Caesarea Community hall and see how it is done by simply exerting your will power. The. many friends, and neighbours of Mr. and Mrs. A. Northcott of Caesarea, are certainly going to miss them, as they have sold their home in the village. However they have obtained an apar- tment in the new buildin Water Street in Port Perry and hope to take possession on approximately October the 18th. Peace, comfort and happiness are wished for them in their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Gobkes of Nestleton, were the guests of honour at a party on Satur- day evening September the 28th in the Nestleton Com- munity Center. The momen- tous occasion was their twenty fifth wedding anni- versary. Kurt and Edyth's children {ith the assistance of rela- tives provided an evening of enjoyjment surpassed by none in this community. A buffet consisting of the most delectable of salads, caviar, cold cuts; (both English and German) and many other displays of culinary art, were to say the least, the » Beautify Your Home! with ALCAN-ALUMINUM SIDING by Dusome Window Products Storm Windows, Storm Doors, Awning & Patio Doors R.R. As a special gift Kurt and Edyth were presented with tickets for a trip to Nassau, in the Ba- hamas and from there to Florida. This gift was by courteousy of Kurt's sister and Mrs. I. Somogyi of Nestle- ton and Kurt's brother Rudy and his wife Lydia also of Nestleton. The children made a money tree in lieu of gifts, which shall add a little extra pleasure to their pa- rents vacation. Approximatgely eighty attended this social function, among them Mayor and Mrs. Lawrence Malcolm, the Norm Johnsons, the Ivan "and Oliver Rohrers, Mr. and Mrs. W. Welts, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Long, the Ken Minshalls, W. Bolans and many more from out of towners that I can not name. It was indeed an evening that shall be stored whereever beautiful memories are hid- den within the hearts of a person by Kurt and Edyth. May they erfjoy many years of happiness yet ta come. As Kurt and Edyth phrased it when asked for a speech, 'it is indeed an 'evening that shall be stored whereever beautiful memories are hid- den within the hearts of a person by Kurt and Edyth. May they enjoy many years of happiness yet to come. As Kurt and Edyth phrased it when asked for a speech, "it __is indeed an honour to have such wonderful friends and family." A sincere wish for im- proved health is conveyed to Mrs. Adele Pedzikowski of Caesarea. Adele has been a patient in the Port Perry hospital. Her many friends and neighbours trust that by the time of publication she is wr [CREST] why not sleep on it? SIMMONS Summer Sale! FAMOUS MATTRESSES AND HIDE-A-BED CONVERTIBLE SOFAS. With the returning to school of the children and pickling, etc., the meeting was postponed until the above mentioned date. As per rule meetings are held on the first Wednes- day of each month. Past Ann Lee, kindly took the chair in my absence. Plans were finalized for the two wedding receptions, Lady Snowbird is catering to this month. Sr. Marg Lee read the minutes of the previous meeting. Sr. Dorothy Lee gave the finan- cial report. It was agreed that a bowling team would be sent to Bowmanville. The annual bazaar shall be held on November the 27th. in the Nestleton Center. In lieu of the regular meeting that was to be held on Wed., Oct. 2nd, the ladies decided that they would finally have their annual "night out," and this they did. They enjoyed a smorgasbord at the Genosha hotel in Oshawa, followed by a floor show at the Hotel Lancaster. By all reports all had an enjoyable evening, (which they certainly de- served). I was unable to attend due to illness and the accidental death in Lindsay of my husbad's brother-in- law. The ladies of Court Lady Snowbird work extremely hard 'and dili- gently at any endeavour they attempt, that I am proud to be President of such a nice group of gals. The 'Cards and Kids" club have decided to have their game of Euchre on Tuesday evenings in the future. Many of the little ones are attend- "ing Kindergarten this season and that makes it difficult for the Mothers that have to prepare them for school. We shall have to re-name the club now as the children shall not be attending. Join us won't you? Mrs. Harley Jackson hos- ted approximately eighteen women for a Sarah Coventry jewellery show last week. Such exquisite costume jewellery was displayed. Shirley as per usual, served a delicious luncheon. Week end guests of the Doug Days of Caesarea were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Enever and Nanna, of Toronto. They accompanied the Days to the - * Fireman's Ball in Caesarea on Saturday evening. A capacity crowd atten- ded the annual fireman's Ball in the Community hall, Caesarea on Saturday even- ing. The music was provided by Peter's Platters and by all reports was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Doug Day was the winner of the $25.00 food voucher donated by courtesy of Gordon's . Market in Caesarea. Spot dance and door prize winners names were not made available. Congratu- lations to all the winners at any rate. Just a thought .. . . .
