It was a rainy cold morning when we landed in Amsterdam. With me was my 19-yéar-old brother, who was to be my constant companion for the next nine months. We each had a backpack weighing about 35 pounds with what we hoped was enough equipment to help us survive the trip we had in mind. {, It is not accurate to say the trip'we had planned, because our plans changed from day to day, and from week to week, as the situation changed. We left Amsterdam to travel through J Holland, stopping at The Hague and Rotterdam before heading north to Hamburg in Germany. From Hamburg, we- went through East 252528 usual was greeted by Mr. Roy Robinson. It was pleas- ant to see Mrs. Robt. "Linda" Hunter presiding at the -organ due to the Snel- groves holidaying. ~ We were favoured by the lovely choir anthem and again music-wise when Mrs. F. Harris and Mrs. K. Iryine rendered an appreciative duet. The minister's mess- age based "A Faith for Affliction" proved worthy of thought. Offering gathered by Mr. T. Hodgsons and Mr. L. Pereman. Several from our congre- gation enjoyed the dedicat- ion and complete tour of the newly erected manse. We all appreciate the generosity of our minister and wife, '"The Brawn's" who shared their hospitality in this way. Please watch for details concerning our annual church anniversary, Nov. 3. Bring along a friend. Congratulations are due Ms. Lexie Love who on Friday, Oct. 4, received her husband, Dr. Jas. Brown and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Love were among the many who attended. The Community Gentre recently held an executive meeting. During business the subject of purchasing drapes for the windows was «abled. The exterior paint- ing of hall and the appear- ance of new cement steps are steadily being admired. The hall committee are very grateful to Mr. A. Lerch who contributed and laid sufficient carpet for the entrance room. Keep in mind on Oct: 31st, the euchre party is withdrawn until the following week.
