2 22--PORT PERRY STAR--Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1974 | Nestleton, Caesarea and area news It would seem that three families in our area had a rather busy week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Don Frew and family, David and Leah Frew and family and the B. Thinels moved to new sur- roundings. Don and Norma have taken up residence in their lovely new home. David, and his wife, Leah and son Dwayné are now residing in David's parents former home and Bruce Thinel and family now reside in Pavid and Leah's former residence. Now that I have probably all of you rather confused, on behalf of the Community, 1 extend a wish for Peace and contentment to each of the above mentioned families in their new surroundings. Court Lady Snowbird, Can- adian Foresters, have decid- ed to hold their regular meeting on November the 13th due to the illness of a fellow Sister and the absence of another. Get well wishes are conveyed to Sr. Carol Doyle, who is a patient in Port Perry Hospital. A safe and pleasant trip is - also wished for Sr. Ann Lee and friends who are enjoying a brief vacation to the U.S.A. Get well wishes are also conveyed fo Mr. Norm Tennyson Jand Mr. Bill Bolan. who have recently returned from the Port Hos- pital. A most welcome and pleas- ant house guest of the W. Bolan's for a week or so was the Senior Mrs. W. Bolan of Downsview. What a delight- ful person my mother-in-law Is. The Nestleton Area Recreation Club held anoth- er dance on October the 28th, in the Nestleton Community hall. Music was provided by Garry Bristow and his band. A delectable luncheon was served. By all reports it was a night of fun for all. Another dance is planned for the ninth of November. Please check with Norm Johnston for details or look for posters in your area. The entire area wanted a Com- munity Hall in Nestleton for years. Now that we have it, let us make an effort to attend functions to raise funds for the much needed extras that are necessary in the completion of any new hall. Many area residents have kindly donated funds, etc., in this endeavour. There are not many places one may attend for an even- ing of fun and dancing plus a meal for such a nominal fee. There is also a telephone for local calls if any of you with children under the charge of a baby sitter wish to check with home. It seems that any planned function in these communities of ours that require work to make them a less delinquents. The best that life has to offer is the wish of the many friends and former neighbours of this young couple. I was invited to attend a meeting in the Janetville Community Centre last week to assist in nominations and elections of the new officers of "the newly formed Com- munity Centre Ladies Auxil- iary. 1 deemed this an honour. 1 was simply amazed to witness what an old hall can become when a group of local gals decide to make their hall something of which all may be proud. Of, course, the men had a hand in this project also. Such a wonderful group of girls they are. The new officers are as follows: President Mrs. Vivian Coulter, Vice, -Mrs. Shirley Fountaine, Secretary Mrs. Sharon Hofstede and Treasurer Mrs. Trudy Ruggles. To each newly _ elected official, -as well: as - the entire Auxiliary, I wish to extend a wish for complete success in their new endeav- our. I may add that the way these women work as a unit, there shall. be no doubt regarding their success. Good luck ladies and thank you for inviting me. The Caesarea T.0.P.S. club has begun a weekly incentive towards weight loss. The winner for the first week was Elna Forsythe. Second was Sue Fowler. The third winner was Shirley Gettins.
