Victor Parsons united in marriage Patricia Joanne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard English, Nest- leton, and John Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sutherland, Utica. The bride, given in mar- riage by her. father, wore a princess line gown of white sation, reappliqued with French lace, accentuated by sheer full sleeves tucked into pearl button cuffs, empire waistline and gently flaring hem. Her colonial bouquet was a delicate miniture of orange rose buds, small white crysanthymums and bahy's breath, intertwined with white satin ribbons. The shoulder length, four layer veil cascaded from a headpiece of white chiffon leaves, applied with small white pearls. The maid of honour, Diana English, sister of the bride, wore a gown of pink brocade patterned with small pink roses. The fitted bodice was enhanced by a white picture hat with matching ribbons. The two bridesmaids, Robin English, sister of the bride, and Connie Sutherland, sis- ter of the groom, were dressed in similar gowns of yellow and sky-blue rose patterns. They carried bou- quets of yellow and white button erysanthymums, baby's breath, gathered with flowing ribbons. The best man was Jim Zoet, Utica, a friend of the groom, and acting as ushers were Rick English, cousin of the bride, and Rod McKay, friend of the groom. The candelight supper and dance were held at the Janetville Community Hall, where the wedding party and parents greeted the wedding guests. The bride's mother wore an empire styled, floor length gown with gently gored skirt in a deep rose colour, accentuated by full length white gloves and a pink and white rose corsage. The groom's assisted in receiving in a sleeveless green formal gown topped with a front button jacket graced by a yellow rose corsage. Prior to the wedding mis- cellaneous showers were hosted to the bride by Mrs. Donna English, Newcastle, Mrs. Ruth English, Whitby, mother" Discuss need of Day Care Centres' A meeting called for the purpose of receiving more information on Day Care Centres and the need for same in this area ended up to become a lively discussion between two factions with different opinions on the subject. Called by the recently formed Scugog Social .Plan- ning Council, Mrs. Betty Deeth, who chaired "the meeting informed the 20 persons present the speaker Mrs. Mary E. The trails will be ayailable to people who enjdy! such outdoor 'sports as snowmo- biling, cross-country skiing, horseback riding and hiking. The Ministry of Natural Resources has been dele- gated the responsibility of implementing this program. A 'trails council' consisting of representatives from various recreational organ- izations, will provide recom- mendations to our Ministry. Beginning this winter, assistance will be offered to organized snowmobile clubs, municipalities and conser- vation authorities for the upgrading and grooming of Mrs. Doris Maieh, Oshawa and a Tupperware shower by Mrs. Lynne Walker of Nest- leton.
