Jnas concert was presented at "Grace" Church. What started with the idea of an hour's program stretched "out to nearly 2 hours to accomodate "all the young talent. It certainly does take Christmas to bring out the best. Each year, we attend and find new faces and new talent. Those whom we've © seen perform before have advanced and developed within the year. The young people are real- ly impressed by T.V. Com- mercials and cleverly inter- spersed the program with their own versions. The program provided Turn down request You won't be able to go to the library to read the min- "utes of regional council. An Oshawa ratepayer ask- ed that the minutes be placed in all libraries but Oshawa Mayor James Potticary pointed out there are about 20 libraries in the region. Normally the region charges two dollars each for copies of council minutes so the cost of placing free copies in the libraries would be about $80. a month. "Who would read them anyway," wondered Oshawa councillor John Howden. "You would have to be at the meeting to get anything out of them." One member of the press suggested that it would cost too much to expand all the libraries so they could store the agendas from the past few months. News plenty of variety in music, song, acrobatics, drama, and pantomime. It is impossible to express our deep appreciation to the leaders who give so unself- ishly of their time, talent and work, even when they feel ill, to train our children and entertain us. We can only repay them by our co-oper- ation, and assistance, when needed. Their interest and work doesn't finish with concert. So let us encourage - them by making some effort on our part too. At Church, in the morning, Rev. Pogue told the children about the legend of the Christmas Tree, which was formerly not a Christian symbol. Sunday. afternoon, Tammie Veltri was honour- ed with a birthday party 'by 11 other girls for her 11th Birthday. Don't forget the Special Christmas Service this com- ing Sunday. Again, the Jr. Choir will sing the songs, they have prepared. Mrs. Morven Hughes is again suffering from throat trouble.
