The first two of Port's goals, were scored by the checking line of John Robert- son, Terry Flieler and Tim Kane. Tim scored Ports first goal in the early minutes of the second period. He scored on a pass from John Robertson and Terry Flieler. At the ten minute mark of the second period John Rob- ertson added a hard fought for goal to give Port a 2 goal lead: Mike Healey assisted with a hard shot from "the point and Tim Kane also assisted by throwing the puck in front of the net. Uxbridge scored their first goal on Merle Schewaga 5 minutes into the third period, closing the gap to one goal. One minutg later, Dave Chambers assisted on a goal by Pete Lane, by pulling the puck away from the boards in Ports end with three Ux- bridge players out of position after it. This gave Pete a one-on-one break and he whistled a blistering wrist shot past the Uxbridge goalie. With only 5 minutes left in the game, Uxbridge made a big come back, fired in two quick goals by Larry James to tie up the game at 3 all. At 11:32 of the third period, Robert Greiner scored Ports fourth and winning goal by firing the puck in behind the goalie. Bill Owen and Steve McIntyre received well de- served assists on' this goal. During the game; this line had many great chances and played excellent hockey. This win for Port was the result of team effort and the excellent goal tending of Merle Schewaga. The second game of the series brought the two teams to Port Perry on Thursday night. This was Feb. 13, bringing bad luck to the team, losing 8-2. Within 2 minutes of the opening face off, each team, had already scored a goal. Rob Greiner blasted a shot through the pads of the hot Uxbridge goalie, Steve Mec- Intyre made a great play assisting on Rob's goal. Between this goal of Port's and their second goal with one second left in the game Uxbridge scored 7 more goals. Newton and James scored two more goals for Uxbridge in the third period to beat Port 4-2 and' win the Lake- shore Division. Shaw had a hot game scoring three goals. A The second game ended up with the same 6-3 score, with Wes Lane downing Bolton Construction. Grieve led the Wes Lane team to victory with two goals. Scoring singles were Healey; Ausman, Carriere and Kraupa. Carnochan led the Bolton team with two goals and a single goal was credited to Griffen. BANTAM Peels Chix dumped Cochranes Trotter's 7-1. Lindsay led the Chix with three goals, Carriere scored two with McCallum and Morris picking up singles. FFedyk scored the only goal for the Trotters. Ballard Lumber squeezed by Emmerson Insurance 2-1 with a goal late in the third period Lee opened the scor- ing for Emmerson early in the first period. Gribbon tied the game for Ballard late in the first. The second period went scorless. Late in the "Tom third period Gribbon scored his second goal to give Bal- lard the lead and a win.
