dh ~ = --Sports PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, Mar. 26, 1975 -- 19 Local PeeWees win consolation trophy in Goderich tournament hg Saturday, this past weekend, the Legion team wound up their tournament play for the season with a big win, defeating the Goderich Lions 6 to 2 to capture the Consolation Trophy in-*B" Division of the 26th Annual Goderich Pee Wee Tourn- ament. This was a big win for the Legionaires who were com- peting for the first time in the higher *'B' division against 14 teams, most of which have much larger populations then Port Perry. The first game saw the Legionaires lose a tough 2 to 1 decision to Exeter. Port outplayed Exeter by a wide margin but were repeatedly foiled in their scoring attempts by hot goaltending. The second game Port- completely dominated the first period to buildup a3to0 lead over Tillsonberg. The second and third periods were scoreless as Port seemed content to play just as hard as they had to, in keeping Tillsonberg off the score sheet. In the final game, the boys gave an all out effort to defeat a strong Goderich team 6 to 2. Port tock a2to0 lead and never let Goderich get any closer than 2 goals as they were determined to keep up their excellent Some enthusiastic parents and fans turned out Sunday afternoon to welcome home the Legion Pee Wee team that brought yet another team trophy home with them after capturing the Consolation position in "/B' Division of the 26th Annual Goderich Smit's Cycle and Cawker's Butchers broomball finalists tournament record and bring home yet another team trophy.
