Tammy collected $105.80 for the club, with Dawn Fellows, right, second with $80.40 and Cathy Hall third highest collector with $43.37. These girls along with numerous other members skated four hours and in that time raised over $500.00 for the Perry Wirklé Fund. This fund is used for aiding skaters who advance into higher brackets of competition. ' Council ba y approves resolution Scugog Township Council, Monday night, - formally approved the resolution made earlier at a joint meet- ing of Uxbridge, Brock, and Scugog Townships, that cal- led for a return to the town- ~ ships of Regional controls of water, sewer, and dump ser--- vices. The resolution was submit- ted to council by Uxbridge administrator, R. G. Kester, « who acted as the secretary _for the joint meeting. According to Scugog clerk, Doreen VanCamp, the original joint meeting was "semi-official", but that the council's formal approval takes the resolution the rest of the way. She said the other two municipalities involved will probably take' similar action. Council also moved that the resolution go to the Region and all area provincial members. Epsom and area news This is Education Week and our Epsom School is a hive of activity. Monday was "Open House". Parents were invited to visit the schools between the hours of 1:15p.m. and 5:00 p.m. This provided an opportunity to visit the school 'while lessons are in progress. Kinder- garten class had their visit- ors in the morning. On Tuesday morning, Mr. Nelson presented a trave- logue of his recent trips to the middle East. On Wednesday, Mrs. Owen, a local artist, well-known to most of us, will be teaching an art lesson to each class. Thursday in the afternoon, Mrs. Robertson, the Dairy Princess, will give a presentation on Product- ion, Processing and Use of Milk. On Friday, Rev. Harry Percy speaker at Baptist Missionary Conference advertisement The theme speaker for the Missionary Conference being held at Port Perry Baptist Church from April 30to May 4 is Rev. Harry Percy of the Sudan Interior Mission who served with SIM for 14 years in Nigeria's Islamic North. He had an extensive trekking and teaching ministry there, and was instrumental in opening a large leprosy treat- ment center. He has visited all SIM areas in West and East Africa, and has an excellent overview of SIM's¢- total ministry, Other missignaries attend ing the conference are; Mr. and Mrs. James Green of Africa Island Mission, Mr. Wm. Phillips of the French Canada Mission Board of the Fellowship ofEvangelic¢al Baptist Churches in Canada, Mr. Vern Goheen of Wycliffe Bible Translation and Roberto Orr and Enrique Cepeda of Christian Nationals Evangelism Commission. Anyone is welcome to attend any of the sessions at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday thru Friday, and at 10and 11 A.M, and 7 P.M. on Sunday.
