This six week programme willrun from July 7 to August 15th at the following sites: R. H. Cornish Public School, Cartwright Kinder- garten and Greenbank Public School. The programme for child- ren from 4 to 10 years of age will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thurs- day, with lunch hour. Super- vision for any children bring- ing lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Jan luten and Esther of Nova Scotia are spending the summer with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lawler, Mr. Luten is a teach- er at Crusaders Bible Camp at Ommee. and Mrs.- On Fridays, the pro- gramme will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. The programme will include swimming where possible, special visitor and events and dress-up days, as well as daily activities as singing, playing games and doing crafts. A steady atten- dance is not required. Registration will take place on July 2nd and 3rd at all three sites from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 pm. Cost is five dollars per child or fifteen dollars per family (three children or more) for the six weeks. Greenbank news (continued family and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Real visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Till on the oc- casion of Mrs. Till's birth- day. The Tait picnic was thor- oughly enjoyable event at Mrs. Marian Page's place .near Leaskdale. There were 65 guests. Another success- ful picnic was the Leask family at Elgin Park, Ux- bridge where 50 guests took . part. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Phoenix and Mr. and -Mrs. Ronald Hancock and their two boys dined with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Phoenix recent- ly. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don McKean for the week were Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Archer of Port McNichol. On Sunday Kenny Fitzgerald with Kim and Kari also called on the McKeans. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Andy Davidson, Kinmount were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leask. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Leask with Dale and Wayne and Mrs. Alita Leask all drove to Stouffville to spend Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. Morley and later to call on Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tomlinson. We have two track stars in the community. Tracey Denby and Debbie Lee and in last weeks column they were referred to as Atalanta which came out 'athlete'. Atalanta was a great hunt- ress in Greek mythology who refused to marry any man who could not defeat her in a foot race and she had those whom she defeated put to death which meant all the challengers until Hippo- menes came along. On the advice of Aphrodite he carried three golden apples of the Hesperides (probably oranges) and dropped them at intervals during the race. Atalanta could not resist them and stopped each time to pick them up so Hippo- menes won the race and Atalanta, too. Please telephone items to 985-7239. Sunny Brae Golf and Country Club of Port Perry will again host a July 12 tournament held to raise funds for ARC Industries, an organization that employs the mentally retarded. For the second year in a row, the club has donated the site for the John D. Baker Memorial Golf Tournament. weekly basis at one dollar per week.
