ednesday, Sept. 10, 1975 : Scugog Township Council has decided that Scugog Island trailer park operator Phil Goreski's request for a building permit to a Platten Island boat shed is contrary to the official plan, and cannot be issued a building permit until the land. is rezoned. ty LT At an August 25 meeting, council dealt with the-applic- ation for a building permit by asking Mr. Goreski to bring in his deed to the property. The motion at that time read that the permit may be issued if the deed shows proper ownership. On Wednesday, August 27, howevery council decided that the permit be held until 60 children attend games, memory work and crafts. Vacation Bible School was enjoyed by over 60 children at Caesarea during the. last weeks of August. The Port Perry Baptist Bus was used to transport children from Blackstock for the pro- gramme each morning. Most of the activities took place in - the open Park area, but the Bus was used one wet morn- "ing for Bible Story time. Besides learning from the life of Peter, the children took great interest in building up points for their team with This year again the Horti- cultural Society granted per- mission to hold Open Air Services in the Port Perry fairgrounds. ~Services were held each Sunday evening with guest "speakers and musicians from in and out of town. Attendance was above _average of other years, and worshipping in the open air was meaningful to those who attended. ..To say that Port Perry Community Memorial -Hos- pital is utilizing all floor space available, is an understatement. When a hospital request for funds to build a needed addit- ion was whittled down to a small fraction of what was needed, hospital authorities had to find alternatives in their efforts to gain more "room for certain. facilities without (1) spending too much money, and (2) within the space- available. Now, with work nearing completion, the 44-bed hos- pital boasts a huge labor- atory expansion, a new lib- rary-teaching facility, and a --near-tripling-of the physio- therapy facility....all within the existing walls of - the hospital. ; To do so, partitions have been torn down and new ones built. Reluctantly, the sofirium at the front of the hospital was converted to expand the much needed physiotherapy facility.
