The donation is the first installment of a three-year commitment toward the project. The minister, Rev, R. Brawn and wife, Shirley, spent a month of vacation in various directions. Rev.-Brawn's topic on Sun- day provided food for thought, "What Christ Ex- pects of Us". Offering gathered by Roy Robinson and Doug' McMillan. The congregation appreciated the generous but colourful floral arrangéments that adorned the sanctuary from the funeral of the late Mr. L. E. Rodgers. At-this timeTtwe, At this time, we all offer our sympathy to the Trans, owners of the General Store over the sudden passing -of her father, Mr. Rodgers. Word has just arrived that Mr. Walter Bond, Toronto, a former boy who was raised here. and grew to be an outstanding citizen, has pas- sed away. He always kept in touch and attended any of our special church activities through the years. We all extend our sincere sympathy to sisters, Mrs. McKerihan, Mrs. Luke and a brother, Mr. Lou Bond. A speedy return home is wished Mrs. B. Snelgrove who is a surgery patient in our local hospital. Mrs. Helen Jewell attended ~the-celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Art Fieldings fortieth wedding anniversary at Manchester onSunday. Con- gratulations Ruby and iy Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Sker- ratt, Sr., were guests at the Dionne-Lee wedding recep- tion-dance recently in Clare- mont Legion Hall. Mr. and Mrs: B. Snelgrove are back from three weeks to the west coast visiting their daughter and husband, Mi and Mrs. (Jean) M. Hanson Victoria, B.C. Mrs. Mabel Graham sent a holiday with her dAugtte: the Hargraves at Willowdalc and was visited all last week by Mrs. Reta Rodman, Oshawa. Mr. and Mrs. L. Perema: and son, and Mr. and Mrs. J McGregor were visited over the weekend by their sister, Miss Roxy Deniston and friend, Miss Betty Best, both of Renfrew.
