Sale al 12-30 Rea and Larry Johnson, Auc tioneers N12 I { Kenny - On Saturday, October 11 at 5:00 p.m., Heather, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hartin,' and Mark Avery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kenny, were united in Marriage. Rev. R. Rose officiated at the candle- light ceremony which was held at the Church of Ascension. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in an empire-waisted gown of sheer over taffeta. The gown featured sheer bell sleeves and a full train, and was high lighted by narrow powder blue ribbon and lace trim. Her headdress of lace and pearls held a tiered sheer veil. She carried a colonial nosegay of pale blue and white carnations and baby's breath. Matron of honour, Sharon Linton, and bridesmaid Vicki Heayn were gowned alike in swiss embroidered pale blue and white dresses with (continued atory Disease Association (CTRDA( and the Ontario Lung Association have recently announced the recipients of research support. The CTRDA awarded almost $190,000. to applicants from across Canada. The association supported five scholarships. These scholars supported will be working in Dalhousie University at Hali- fax, the University of Mani- toba at Winnipeg, McGill University at Montreal, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and the University of Western Ontario at London. The CTRDA supported 14 operating grants with the research work b&ing carried out on a variety of topics in university medical schools extending from the Memorial University Medical School in St. John's, Newfoundland to the University of British Columbia Medical School. The local associations in Ontario through their Christ- mas Seal fund raising sup- port research approved by the CTRDA as well as sup- Jacqueline . She was assisted by the groom's mother in a knit dress of pale apricot, and by the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Heayn. Guests were present from Port Perry, Oshawa, Toronto and Gooderham. A telegram was received from the groom's sister Anne Kenny, who is stationed in Inuvik, N.W.T. For their honeymoon trip, the bride changed to a gown of shimmering ice-blue. Mark and Jackie are now residing in Port Perry. Avoiding mail problems porting research in Ontario through the Ontario Lung Association and its medical advisory group, the Ontario Thoracic Society. The total allotment of funds from the Ontario provincial office amounts to $198,000. "Four university medical schools in Ontario are receiv- "ing continuing support for research in their pulmonary units. The Ontario Lung Associ- ation through its Thoracic Society Research Committee approved 12 applications for research projects that vary from basic research to studies regarding the effectiveness of certain drugs in clinical practice. The long term investment in research relating to pul- monary disease will help solve problems related to such conditions as chronic bronchitis, emphysema and asthma.
