Those of you who attended Cartwrights Com- mencement festivities, will remember having seen this play. : It was put on for Port Perry High (the first play to" use their new curtains) on Thursday, November 27th, for the grade 9's and 10s, to show them what a theatre arts class is all about. The crew consisted of a grade 13 English class, the director being Mr. R.J. Scott, (the teacher of 'the class), assist- ant director Karen Mikkel- sen, prop man and lighting Brian (Beans) Sleep. With Jennifer. played by Carol Rushton, Dastardly Doctor Dick Carver played by Eric Post, Charles by Peter Krist- ensen, Kathrine by Anne Marlow, Hulda by Cindy McColl, the Ghost of grand- mother Wedgewood by Jack Gunter, Roxanne by Janise McLaughlin, Bosco by Leroy the- snake, Philbert by Harold Wright, Nick Sher- lock by Shawn Severn and of course Aranya the spider. Santa continued ion, Certain to be up there as - a close second is Gunner, a frisbee-catching labrador- retreiver, who will show off the skills that have earned him countless champion- ships, prizes and awards, not the least of which is an honorary membership in the U.S. Frisbee Association.. and the North American championship. Not that Gunner will be shy to perform before a Port Perry crowd. It will be a" cinch for him, since he's performed before 40 million television viewers at one half-time N.H.L. playoff game in Los Angeles, and countless other competitive and exhibition perform- ances. Bands, clowns, exhibits, floats, and even a champion- ship motorcycle-sidecar_ team will be part of this year's parade, sponsored by the Scugog Chamber of ~. Commerce, - lJ A scene from Cartwright High School's production of The Mystery of Yd £ Mouldy Manor, this time performed for grade 9 and 10 students at Port Perry High School. A spider descends on Eric Post (Dasterdly Doctor Dick), while Carol Rushton and Shawn Severn (Jennifer, Nick Sherlock) look on in horror. wid s b Cartwright students ' a entertain at P.P.H.S. The play involves murders a thief, a cobra, a man killing spider, two lovers and the maid. A multimillion dollar ruby is passed around and tossed around and strange things happen in the secret passages. All around this comedy was a great success. I think the operation on .Mr. Nick Sherlock to remove his stomach, got the most laughs and if yau thought puns were dead, try again. Cartwright's main body of . students also attended Os - hawa Little theatre to see the production, 'Hello Dolly". nt was enjoyed greatly by all. ANTI-FREEZE Before You Buy . . . Give Peleshok A Try!
