Congratulations to Mrs. Still looking Port Perry Lions Club is still looking for the two boys _one with failing eyesight... who had approached club members during their recent Blitz for the Blind campaign in support of the CNIB. Last 1'riday evening the "Head" UCW held a very successful and entertaining mystery sister supper when they invited all ladies of the "Head" community to par- take and become acquaint- ed. This included people in new homes and lakeside resi- dents. We were pleased to welcome Mrs. Ethel Whitter from Port Perry, Mrs. East- man from Whitby, Mrs. Trudi Zingg from Gull Lake where her family moved recently, Mrs. Heather Reader from Oshawa, Mrs. Norma Forder, Mrs. Freda Cochrane, Mrs. Helen Fedyk Mrs. Sue Ralph, from the Island. Mrs. Kay Walker, Mrs. Margaret McClusky, Mrs. Valerie Holland, Mrs.' Nera Bloeman, Mrs. Betty" Smith, Mrs. MaryLyn Heayn Mrs. Marilyn Fitchett, Mrs: Doreen Adam, Mrs. Pow, Mrs. Merle Jones, Mrs, Dor- othy Freeman, Mrs. Gail Ballard all from lakeside homes. The president, Mrs. Helen Redman fulfilled her "almost last official duties very capably and pleasantly and thanked everyone for the co-operation shown to her. Over 100 people attended the Service at Church on Sunday. It was the 1st Sunday of Advent, a period that meant the prep- aration for the baby Jesus. So it was also an appropriate time to réceive three babies into the Church by baptism. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ballard presented their baby daught- er, Megan Nicole. Mr. and Mrs. Bill:Loates also brought their wee daughter, Kimber- ly Ann and infant boy, John James was presented by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Adderley. His honoured god parents are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Demara. Many grand- parents, aunts, uncles and friends were present to wit- ness the happy occasion. Don't forget the "Grace" Christmas Concert is being prepared for December 14, so try to keep this evening free. Tony Oxley had a painful experience - while playing hockey in Lindsay over the weekend. As a result, he has to nurse a crushed ankle. Each of the volun- teers was given a handicap, for example one was blind- folded, some were restricted to wheelchairs, others had splints on arms or legs. All reported a better under- standing of the residents' situation. En "and Sunday, Mr. Cavannah visited Mon- day night with beautiful slides of England and Holland. - Tuesday's church service and Thursday's bingo were well attended, Friday even- ing, Jean Nash showed films the Utica Sunday School under the direction of Dorothy Brown entertained with an after- noon program. Mr. Lindsay has joined the swimming group. There are now three who swim regul- arly at Uxbridge, twice weekly. The group is indebted to Mrs. Bert Gray for the ingredients that went into the homemade soup last Friday.
