Mrs. Mary Sheen, Toronto . spent the weekend with her © daughter Miss Susan Sheen. Welcome home to cold old Blackstock is extended to several of the lucky ones who enjoyed a holiday in Florida = Mr. and Mrs. Ray Essery, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Corden, Julie and Christie and Mrs. L. MacArthur. Joy Werry entertained five of her girl friends on Sat. to celebrate her 8th birthday. Happy birthday Joy. Saturday guests of Mrs. Wilbert Archer were Mr. and Mrs. Don Fleming and family of Oshawa. On Sunder her guests were Mr. and' Mrs. Jim Archer and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Archer of Whitby, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Archer of Bowman- ville. The Cartwright School Band played at the Port Perry Baptists Church at the - morning Worship Service. Several from here enjoyed - a day of snowmobiling with the "Nestleton Snowmobile Club held on Sunday at Green Lake at Neil Lee's property. They report lots of snow in that area, 'Mr. and Mrs, Wilson Heaslip of Lindsay were Sun. . guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry VanCamp. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Samells of Peterborough were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson Samells. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fraser and Kent of Agin- court were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mahaffy. Winners at the Senior Citizens Card Party on Tues. evening were 1. John Griffin 88, 2. Olive Gimblett 84, 3. Elwood Tripp 81, 4. Margar- et Moore 80, 5. Carl Wright 80, 6. Flossie Aldread 80, low Goldyn Faint, 0.N.O. The March meeting of the 0.N.O. was held at the home of Shirley Hoskin with 20 members and 2 visitors present. The evening began with the jingle of harness as the ladies were treated to an old-fashioned sleigh-ride thanks to Murray, Shirley and their family. The night couldn't have been better for such a delightful ride and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Following the ride, the meeting opened with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting and the treasur- er'sreport. A committee was set up to draw up a possible recreation program and to prepare an application of a. grant to be in by March 30, 1976. : The ping pong table was purchased for the Black- stock Teen Organization and five additional tables for the Recreation Centre to be used as extras. A montion was' carried to donate $25.00 to" .the Red Cross Society but to decline the door-to-door can- vas. Other successful mo- tions were to donate $50.00 to the New Arena Fund and to purchase two small lights and a clock for the Confer ence Rooms. Events coming up include a dance on May 1st and three weddings. The meeting concluded with the Roll Call - wear -something Green and to tell an Irish Joke. Shirley and her group served a very delicious lunch, On Friday and Saturday evenings the students of the Cartwright High School pre- sented an evening of drama made up of three one-act plays entitled - Mr. Snoopy is Murdered, The Thompsons and The Clue for Cleopatra. Fine crowds were present on both evenings. On Saturday evening the plays were judg- ed with The Clue for Cleopat- ra taking top marks. Top actresses were Sue Catty, Janet Parsons. and Loyjse VanCamp. Top actors were Harold Wright, Paul Larmer and Jack Gunter.
