And_as a grand Better lease, new building Local marina owner Bill Kendry told Scugog TFown- ship Council Monday night that he might be prepared to build a new marina if council would be prepared to offer' him a long enough lease. He said that in view of earlier talks about making the lakefront into parkland, he would be willing to tear down the existing, somewhat run-down Port Perry Marina and rebuild: He has only a five-year and hoped that this would be extended under new terms to make such a major invest- ment possible. Coun. Reg Rose suggested that while council may find it desireable to have a marina at -the lakefront, it may not be a good idea to have it located in the same location. But under the terms of the existing lease, council felt it was their obligation to renew the lease of Port Perry Marina either at the existing site or wherever it would be asked to move.
