The Chamber's commun- ity service project will take place at the Port Perry ' Arena and will begin Thurs- day night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Chamber officials are en- thusiastic about this year's show, the first time recre- ational and home shows have been combined. Preparations for the show began over a month ago, and a wide range of exhibitors are taking part. On display will be furniture and carpet, television, stereo, appli- ances, boats, bikes, sports equipment, recreational vehicles and camping equip- ment, and other displays covering a wide range of committee and others, but organizers hope to keep the event local. "Idea is to keep this thing with the community where it belongs," said one official. The arena committee ~~ hopes for good participation on behalf of the many groups who make use of the area, the majority of them young people such as hockey groups and figure skaters.
