Caldwell-Wray On Saturday, July 17th the wedding of Lynda JoAnne Caldwell and William Ken- neth Wray were united in marriage by Rev. Roundell officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cald- well of 1811 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. The groom is the youngest son of Mrs. Phylis Wray, RR 2, Seagrave and the late Fred Wray. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a simple floor length gown of white satin knit and a hooded caped brimmed weil of lace. She carried a cascade of yellow roses. Accompany the bride was her eldest sister, Darlene Payne of Port Perry, acting as matron of honour. Karen Johnston of RR 1 Ashburn, cousin of the bride, Bonnie Payne and Julie Fitze of RR 2 Seagrave, friends of the bride were bridesmaides. Also accompaning the bride was four-year old Lots new The '76 Port Perry Fair will feature many new ex- hibits. There will also be traditional exhibits that have been improved. The Histori- cal Display this year will concentrate on farm engin- es. There will be steam. engines ranging from a large thrashing machine to a small model steam engine that runs a saw mill. Older model tractors will be displayed to illustrate the progression of farm machinery through the years. Smaller engines used to grind, pump and cut will also be on hand. Another attraction will be the Mini-miniature tractor pull. Small toy tractors powered by model aircraft engines compete in this event. These tractors have their own organization with rules and regulations similar to large tractor pulls. Everything but the excit- ment is on a smaller scale. The girls were all dressed alike in gowns of peach voil over taffeta with white hats and matching ribbon. They car- ried nosegays of yellow daisies and blue baby's breath. The groom was accompan- ied by his brother Allen, of Toronto as bestman. Rick Payne, brother-in-law of the bride, Port Perry, Don Mc- Cully, Lloyd Hartin both of Udora, Ont. Ring bearer was Richard Hirst of Osh- awa, cousin of the bride. They all wore tuxedos of black and white with peach ruffles. The reception was held at Seagrave United Hall base- ment served by U.C.W and followed by a dance at Utica Memorial Hall. The couple spent * their honeymoon in Northern Ontario. The newly-weds will reside at RR 2 Seagrave, Ont. at fair The competition will begin on Sunday afternoon with the finals on Monday afternoon. One of the most moticeable changes in the fair will be the Midway. The Fair Board has hired a new company to rup the rides and games. There will also be a change in location of the Midway. This year it will run north to south along the Rosa Street entrance road. These two changes allow the Midway to be bigger and better this year than ever before. A new idea this year is the childrens Petting Zoo. The Petting Zoo will be located near the Beef Ring. Children will be able to walk through and see a variety of small farm animals. There will be a goat, a lamb, piglets and even a white rat. Everyone met at our lovely little community centre at Prince Albert just on time to welcome Deb and Rick on their arrival after a long drive from Hamilton. Games were enjoyed by all, then we watched as Deb. and Rick opened their many useful and beautful gifts. Everyone enjoyed the lovely lunch prepared by the ladies and especially the coffee which was prepared by Roy Hope. Debbie and Rick, all of us' would like to extend our best for health and happiness in the years to come and may all your troubles be "little ones". Congratulations and happy rT bE days to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bent, the bride the former Miss Debbie Redman who were married in our church last Friday evening. We are pleased this couple plan to reside in one of the Milne apartments. We all offer many more years of married hliss to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brain whose family thoughtfully arrang- ed, a surprise party for the parents twenty-fifth wedding anniversary in the hall on Saturday night. Her father Mr. Louis Bond, Beaverton was able to join the large group of relatives and friends on this pleasant occasion. The church congregation admired and appreciated the attractive basket of flowers from the Johnson-Harris wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olsen and family have been visited by his sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. E. Hart of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They ER RE all enjoyed a few days at the cottage at Hall's Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Alsop are home from three weeks in western provinces. Gardiner Dam in Alberta was a highlight plus many scenic places. As I read over my column last week I noted word Chat- auqua had a "'g" instead of a Mr. and Mrs. L. Beacack in company with their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Don Beacock, Lee and Blair of Seagrave were in Cobourg on Sunday while there toured "The Barnum House." Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Postill entertained all their family over the weekend including Mr. and Mrs. (Lenore) Mer- rick and family of Prince George, B.C., Mrs Janet Laxton and family of North Bay.
