Lumbermen 3 - Claremont 2 The Lumbermen defeated a "scrappy" Claremont team on Tuesday night be- cause of the great pitching of Ken Goreski and a strong defensive showing by the en- tire team. Goreski allowed the Claremont team five hits while striking out nine, but his pitching performance was excellent when he pitch- ed out of three innings with runners in scoring position. Grant Norton started the game for Claremont and allowed only one bunt single in seven innings but he tired in the seventh inning and was replaced by Keith Lew: is. In the first game Ken Goreski continued his find pitching as he "scattered" six hits and allowed only two runs to earn the win. The Lumbermen wrapped up this game with a 3 run fifth inning on consecutive hits by Brent Heard, Jody Williams, Steve Cochrane and Ken Goreski.
