Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook- son attended a birthday party and reunion for Fred's father on August 6 at the home of Mrs. Edith Davis and family of Scugog Island. Attending were Fred's uncle, nephew and wife who are also visiting from England. Mr. and Mrs. Cookson also enjoyed attending a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cookson of Ajax recently. During the week Fred and Madeline took their guests from England on a sight-seeing tour of Northern Ontario. i Friday visitors at the B.L. Wanamaker home were Mr. and Mrs. C. Sadler of St. Thomas. Also visiting for part of his holidays was their Ivan C. Goodhand, Principal. grandson Wayne Wanamak- er of Oshawa. Wayne also enjoyed spending some time with his uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Neil Wanamaker and family, We extend sympathy to the friends and relatives of the late Miss Laura Mark who was formerly of Toronto. Miss Mark passed away Sun- day. " Kim and Robert Tobin of Blackstock have been having a few holidays with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Tobin recently. Little Shane and Stacey Coxworth of Uxbridge drop- ped in. Saturday to help entertain Grandpa and Grandma Tobin for the day. Mrs. Reta Boe has been a busy lady again. Weekend guests at her home were her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Boe and David of King- ston and on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ross Dowson and Mr. and Mrs. Burnie McCroney and Sean were all dinner guests of Reta"s. Ladies you won't belive it but the Nutrifil pastry bags have finally arrived. One of our Unit 2 gals will be getting them to you very soon. Thank you for being so pat- ient. We apologize for the lengthy delay. And speaking of Unit 2. Our next unit meeting will be at the home of Marilyn Bea- cock on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 p.m. Any gals who would be interested in join- ing this Junior Unit we would be more than happy to have you with us. Mrs. Anne Clements enjoy- ed reminiscing with her stu- dents of 1921 who attended school in Epsom when she was the school marm there, Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Len Somerville. Betty's family were honour- ed and each family present- ed with a souvenir Centen- "nial mug as .the Munro family have lived in the Epsom area for six genera- tions. Quite a thing in this day and age to live in an area for six generations.! Con- gratulations! Sorry to report that Lou- ella Short and Heather Wine- hold have been a bit under the weather lately. Hope both of you will soon be home. Gals 12 years and over are reminded that there will be a 4-H Unit beginning the first part of September. This unit is "Taking A Look At Your- self" and will deal with make-up, exercises, etc. Sounds like a great course girls! More details regard- ing dates will be given next week. Parents please note that Rally Sunday will be on Sept. 5 (this Sunday) so bring your little ohes to church so that they may receive their awards for last years atten- dance and the children will also be promoted to their new class if necessary. Also the Nursery will not be in operation until Sept. 19. Don won 35-2 over Larry Treagus in this match, This weekend the north and south. group meet at Riverwood Park again. Representing. Seagrave was Don Whyte in the high singles class. Don won this event as well over runner-up Larry Treagus. In the grand finals Don Whyte and Bob Slade played the best 2 out of 3 games with Don walking away the winn- er and with a lovely lamp, silver stein and a trophy to proveit. Game scores were: 1st game 21-20 and 2nd game 21-18, Congratulations to Mr. Whyte! Many of our community members enjoyed attending the dance at the Catholic' Church Hall in Port Perry Saturday night in honour of Miss Dianne Puckrin and Mrs. Gord Hooker. Mr. and Mrs. Don Beacock and boys attended the chris- tening of their little nephew Philip Bryan Beacock a the Prince Albert United Ch wch on Sunday. They enjoyed lunch at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock and later everyone joined at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bea- cocks for a dinner party in honour of Philip.
