We know many people had intended to be there but were side track- ed by other unexpected events. A few earlier demon- strations "were also well attended and thus the rumours spread. However, since the fall season is ap- proaching and we shall soon be hearing about Christmas the demonstrations will end next Sunday 'with a very appropriate and unusual one Christmas decorations from straw by Mrs. Walter Welts of Nestleton. The Welts family is well known in their association and raising of wild fowl and interest in various community affairs. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Philippe Middleton at the "Head" and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Trip at Steph- enson's Point as both fami- lies welcomed baby sons a week ago. Saturday was certainly a busy and interesting day around the Port Perry area with weddings, fair and a very large household sale in the arena which attracted people from many miles. The ladies of the "Head" U.C.W. were also kept busy supplying a great need for refreshments, Recently, Mrs. Helen Hor- top assisted for a week in the cooking at the Crusaders Bible Club Camp at Reaboro where over one hundred children were present. Mr. and Mrs. James Adam and three children of - Port View Beach have returned from a two week vacation.in Florida. . Mr. Randy Scott, who lives at the '"'Head" during the school year has returned from a four week survival course at Lake Nipigon. He is spending the last week at his home in Leamington before resuming duties at the Cartwright High School in September. The "Head" U.C.W. will meet tonight at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Carter. We are glad to hear that little- Judy Chamberlain at the "*Head" has returned to her home after three hospital weeks following a gun accident. With weekly nurs- ing visits and home care, she may be able to attend school in Septembér. It is gratify- .ing to know that neighbours provided transportation and were a good help in the time of need.
