Murphy attended a baby shower for = Mrs. Judy O'Laisen in Toronto on the weekend, Barry Hamilton of Norris- town, Pennsylvania has been having a wonderful visit for one week with his brother and family, Dave Hamilton of Prince Albert, The Prince Albert Public School are glad to welcome two new teachers to their staff, Miss Kathrine Laven- der and Mr. John Lewis. Also Miss Caroline Crawford and Miss Jane Shantz are doing an important job in sharing Christ with the kids at school in their religious knowledge classes. Hilary Fairburn and her mom and sister went to a cat show on the weekend at Birchmount Arena in Scar- borough. They took along their two cats, Lady Fidget news and Duchess Emma. Both cats did well with Lady Fidget winning two trophies, one silver dollar, four ribbons and one potted plant. Duchess Emma won two ribbons for second place. We are all happy that Mrs. Brough is home from the hospital. *. Mr. and 'Mrs. L. Beacock were away visiting relatives at Oshawa Hospital and Hillsdale Manor on the weekend. Ralph and Karen Mor- timer had a lovely visit from their good friend, Lorraine McDonald from Trenton, who was here to judge a R.H. CORNISH PUBLIC SCHOOL By'Edward Canning Last Wednesday the R. H. Cornish kindergartens em- barked on a trip to Mr. Lloyd Smith's apple orchard at R.R. 2, Port Perry. They left the school at 1:30 and ar- rived safely through rain and - shine. They were shown how to pick apples (with the stems, of course), .how to spray them, store them, and last but not least, HOW TO EAT THEM. Teacher- student volleyball, girls' inter-mural basketball, drama, science, mechanics, and stocks and bonds clubs are some of the possible choices. The School News- paper staff has been busy collecting articles and the first edition will be off the press shortly. Student council is diligent- ly improving the School Treasury. A grand total of $2,000 may be collected from the Walk-a-Thon. Activity card sales are well in the 390's, but needs everyone's support. To insure good dance groups and many other activities, buy a card! A fashion show is scheduled for the 17th of November, and is hoped to be beneficial for the school's fund raising.
