Newcastle United Church was the scene of a lovely summer wedding on Sat., August 14, 1976, when Wylma Arlene, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Allin, Orono, was united in marriage by Rev. D. Spivey to Glenn Lawrence, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Malcolm, R. R. 1, Nestleton. The organist was Mrs. Everett Brown and the Solo- ist, Miss Gail Malcolm, sister of the groom. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a 'formal gown of white lustre satin. Designed in an A-line style, the bodice featured a V-shaped neckline and high waist. The cuffs of the long, full sleeves, the neckline, waist and chapel train were accented by appliques of silk lace. A two-tiered below shoulder veil fell from a matching lace-trimmed cap and she carried a bouquet of pink silk rosebuds, white baby's breath and satin "ribbon. The matron of honour, Mrs. Ian McKenzie, bride's sister and the bridesmaids, Miss Sandra Hunter, Miss Laurie Malcolm, groom's sister, and Mrs. Joe Hough were gowned alike in formal A-line gowns of apricot pom- padour silk. Wearing white daisies in their coiffures, they carried bouquets of white daisies, baby's breath and lace. Best man was Mr. Barry Malcolm, groom's brother, and the ushers were Messrs. Neil Allin, bride's brother, David and Dennis Malcolm, brother's of the groom. The groom wore a white tuxedo and his attendants wore similar white jackets and black trousers with pink rosebud boutonnieres. For the reception held in Newcastle Community Hall, ~ the bride's mother received the guests in a formal gown and matching coat of green floral chiffon. She was assis- ted by the groom's mother who chose a formal gown of pink polyester crepe. For a honeymoon in Nor- thern Ontario, the bride chose a street-length dress and matching jacket of sea green Windsong satin, white accessories and a corsage of yellow Sweetheart roses. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Timms of Saintfield. The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Guelfo Giannini of Santfield. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length = gown of organza with sheer sleeves and scooped neckline. It had a flared hemline and midrift of blue polyester chiffon. The dress shoulder length veil was adorned with white Chantil- ly lace embeded with sequins and seed pearls. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow roses and green | fern. Attending the bride as Maid of Honour was Miss Shona Ferguson, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Debbie Lee and Miss. Marion Ward, both . friends of the bride and Mrs. Barbara Ward, sister of the bride. They wore identical floor-length gowns with each girl in a different colour making a beautiful rainbow wedding.
