The solo- ist was Christine Bone of Zephyr. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Risebrough of Ux- bridge. The bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rodd of Port Perry. The bride given in marri- age by her father wore a gown of white polyester satin with high neckline decorated with lace flowers and pearls, hand. sown, long sleeves trimmed with frills and lace, separate train with similar trim, headpiece of hand- made flowers and waist- length tulle veil. She carried a lovely bouquet of yellow roses and babies breath with lace. Maid of honour, Diane Risebrough, sister of the bride, wore a floor-length gown of mint green polyester crepe with cape sleeves and white lace trim and white picture hats with green vel- vet ribbon. Identically dres- sed were the bridesmaids Brenda Graves, friend of the bride; Marilyn Beacock, sis- ter of the groom; Doris Risebrough, sister of the bride. The flower girl, Leanne Johnson, cousin of the bride, wore a white eye- let pinafore over her green - gown. They carried baskets of pink carnations and white daisies. Best man was Grant Kerry of Oshawa, relative of the groom. Ushers were Neil Risebrough, brother of the bride, Ron Thomson, friend of the groom and John Foster, brother-in-law of the groom. The ringbearer, Lee Beacock, nephew of the groom. They wore dark brown tuxedos. Following the wedding, a reception and dance at the Town Hall. The bride's mother wore yellow polyester with a flo- wered chiffon cape and a corsage of yellow bud roses. The groom's mother wore flowered chiffon over peach polyester and a corsage of coral bud roses. The bride chose for her going away outfit, a yellow dress with a flowered jacket and white accessories, a cor- sage of yellow roses. After a short honeymoon to the east coast, the happy couple will reside at R.R. 1, Uxbridge. Guests in attendance came from Ottawa, Walkerton, Listowel, Waterloo, Lindsay, Sutton, West Toronto and surrounding districts. (Brian was the groom), Stephen, Donna Jean and Mary Ellen. Mrs. Mabel Graham has just returned from a fabulous 12 day trip to the Maritimes. The A. Martyns and the Sandy Moores have arrived home from same vacation too. Mr. and Mrs. H. Denniston of White Lake spent the weekend with their daughter at the L. Peremans and J. McGregors. Mr. and Mrs. L. Beacock were happy to have their two grandsons Lee and Blair Beacock from Seagrave for the weekend. They had their parents and Bryan and Judy Beacock and son Philip for a meal also. Mr. and Mrs. S. McGregor and Lauri Lockwinnock Renfrew were with their son and wife Mr. and Mrs. Jas. McGregor. Rev. and Mrs. Brawn and family entertained his mother Mrs. Brawn and Misses E. and G. Brawn all of Oshawa. Also Miss Eliza- beth Brawn who was home from the University of Toronto, We are pleased our minister's father is improv- ing while hospitalized. Mr. and Mrs. H. Dearborn and family were at their cottage at Maple Lake over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. T. Hodgins getting some more norther fresh air at Healey Falls as well. Pat Love and Grace Beacock were among the group and enjoyed guiding grades 7-8 Port Perry Cornish School through Scugog Museum one day last week. Ode was sung with Mrs. Flossie Ploughman at the piano followed by the Mary Stewart Collect in unison. Roll call **Suggest a Way to Help Cotitrol Drinking Among our Youth'. Many very well spoken suggestions were given by the members. Mrs. Dorothy Pascoe gave the "Motto" 'Wear a Smile, not a Frown." During the business the minutes of previous meeting were read and dealt with. The training school on quilt- ing, the course was rep- resented from this Branch by Mrs. Dorothy Naples and Mrs. Clara Warren. They had brought back to the Branch two different quilt patterns which they had on display for the members. A motion was carried to pur- chase material for a complete quilt and to be pieced by the members and later quilted at the home of Mrs. Lillian Harper, 330 Scugog St., on Monday, Nov. Ist and Tues. Nov. 2nd from 1-4 p.m. Also quilting on Mond., Nov 8th and Tues., Nov. 9th. at the same hour. Anyone interest- ed in attending these after- noons of quilting are asked to please call Mrs. Dorothy Naples 985-2483 or Mrs. Clara Warren 985-2575. Thank you notes were read and also expressed by those who have received. The 64th Annual Convention will be held in the Royal York Hotel on Nov. 4th and Sth.
