Seagrave and area news by Diane Puckrin Here it is another week, a new month and Mother Nature still has us in' her * frigid grip. Keep those "woolies" handy, we're going to need them for a while yet. Please keep in mind the annual Seagrave Pancake - Supper to be held in the church on Tuesday, Feb. 15, beginning at 5 p.m. The general meeting of the U.C.W. will 'be held Wednesday night in the church at 8 p.m. All ladies are reminded to bring an articlé for the baby layette. The Beavers have enjoyed a few winter outings this past month including a to- bagonning party, mobile party and last Tues- day evening they held a skating party on the river. Many thanks to the organi- zers, leaders and helpers of these events. The boys have really enjoyed these happenings. g Not to be outdone by the kids, the old:timers hockey team and friends enjoyed a skating party on the river Sat. night. Our thanks to Bert and Glenda Hutcheon for being our hosts. It was . a fun-filled evening inspite' of cold feet, pulled muscles and aching ankles (a sign of age, perhaps!). Mr: Ellsworth Kennedy is a patient in Port Perry Hospital these days. We wish you a speedy recovery, Ellsworth. I am happy to report that Mrs. Rita Boe, Mrs. Sina Bright and Mr. Don Wallace are all home from hospital. We wish you all continued good health. We are also happy to see Mr. Venner feeling so much better too. Kevin and Tara Lynn Puckrin visited their grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aylmer Harris of Cambray over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wana- 'maker and Sara of Prince Albert were Sunday dinner guests of Bill's Mom and Dad; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wanamaker. Concerned parents will be glad to know that a school bus turning sign has been placed north of the 14th concession. This is a temp- orary sign and something .more permanent will be placed at this corner after the next rate-payers meet- - ing. I understand that it was an. exciting hockey game played Sun. night when our Bell Canada. The final score was 4-3 for the Bell \/ locals took on a team from at the old arena. Mr. and Mrs, John Tobin were busy over the week- end when they babysat their four grandchildren,Kim and Robert Tobin of Blackstock and Shane and Stacey Cox- worth of Uxbridge. Sunday night dinner guests included Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tobin of Oshawa and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tobin of Black- stock. Congratulations to John Zolderdo who was chosen top carrier salesman of the year for the provincial national area for the Toronto Star recently.
