Social schedules were relaxed a little to make way for the long nights hitting the books. Because of bad weather, the six days for ekams stretched into February, prolonging the agony. Pictures for the 77 yearbook were taken at the beginning of the first month and brought hopes of soon receiving last year's yearbook. Due to an unfor- tunate delay, we will have to wait a little longer. In the middle of January, two tragic losses were suf- fered against the Pickering and Bowmanville teams in boy's basketball. On Feb. 3, the team faced Bowmanville again and, alas, were de- feated. Although they have not turned up a win yet, they are playing exceptionally well as a first year team. To help unwind from the: stress and strain of examin- ations, the winter Carnival and Heart Dance have been arranged for February 11. The admission fee. for the dance featuring "Frost Bight" is $3.00 a person. The six finalists for this years Heart Queen are Anita DeJong, Anne Marlow, Deb McLaughlin, Katie Schmidt, Wendy Tiling Sug | and Louise girls "have a icon of delivering a speech at the dance. Then the judges take over. Congratulations and good luck! Also underway are the preparations for the three one act plays put on by the house groups. The casts will soon be chosen and those involved are looking for- ward to the theatre work- shop directed by Marion Dennis, which will be held February 15 and 16, here at CHS. February 19, our Outers Club will host the G. L. Roberts Quters to a big day of ice fishing on Lake Scugog. (We will supply the . worms and minnows, and hopefully Scugog will supply the fish!) We intend to catch 20 pounds of ice if all else fails. For those guys who are Libber, Valentines Day may bring you a box of choco- lates. For those who are not, there goes your wallet for that sweet weekend. P.S. Four more shopping days until February 14. Just one last closing re-° minder. By now you hae forgotten your New Ye r's resolutions and are bac). in the swing of things. Just think, in 320 days. you can try again!
