Mr. and Mrs. Ais Duff arrived home last week following a two week vaca- tion in Florida. On Thursday and Friday evenings the students of Cartwright High School presented an evening of drama made up of three "The "Ghost of Black Jack', "Open Season for Lovebirds" and "The Castle of Mr. Simp- son'. On Friday evenng the plays were judged with "Open Season for Love- birds" being the winner with Jack Gunter and Eric Post as directors. Top actresses were Deb. Swain, Cindy McColl, Janet Parsons and Deb. McLaughlin. Top actors were: Paul Larmer, Bryan Sleep and Ray Porrill. Best director was Peter Kristen- sen. Great crowds were present both evenings. Con- gratulations for a job well done. By Anne Kristensen For our Graffiti Dance on March 11 we had the well known and popular disc jockey, Paul Godfrey from 'CFTR. Paul spotted couples throughout the night giving away albums to the chosen winners. At 10:30: the DJ picked Barry VanCamp and Joanne Wolters as the best dressed couple. Deb Swain was the best dressed girl and Eric Kristensen was the decided "boy. The hard to . beat techniques of Marlene Asselstine (the wife of an alumnus of CHS) won her the bubble blowing contest. All prizes were compli- ments of CFTR. Also given away by the radio station was a package deal of $125. worth of singles records and two tickets to the Eagles live in concert on March 30 in Toronto. This treasure was won by Paul Larmer and his date Lee. The majority of people were dressed up and had a fun night jiving and twisting. Many thanks to Colin Assel- stine- for arranging the dance. . It was a house competition with the Ookpiks presenting "The Ghost of Blackjact", the Ali Kats presenting "Open Season for Love- birds" and the Tigers closed the "evening with "The Simpson'. The second evening the plays were judged and the winner being the Ali Kat play. The trophies were award- ed their directors, Jack Gunter and Eric Post. They chose Paul Larmer from the Tiger play as the best actor. The second best was Bryan Sleep from the Ook- - piks and third best actor was Ray Porrill from the Ali Kats. For the Actresses Deb Swain from the Ali Kats was first, Cindy McColl, a Tiger was second' and we had a tie for third, Janet Parsons and Deb McLaughlin, an Ookpik and an Ali Kat respectively. The judges thought the best director was of -the Ookpik play, Peter Kristensen. It was a very entertaining night. We are proud of the efforts displayed by all those involved to make it so successful.
