Heron The April meeting of the Ladies Bible Class was held on Wed. night last week at the home of Mrs. D, Ashton, Mrs. W. Hopkins, presi- dent, conducted the meeting. and had an Easter medita- tion to begin the meeting. Miss Chrissie Simpson led in prayer and Mrs. D. Wick read the scripture. Mrs. Theo Knight was in charge of the program and began by reading an Easter poem also a poem was read by Mrs. W. Gardner. Mrs. Jennie Johnston had the topic for the evening which was a very sincere and interesting Easter message and Mrs. Geo. Johnston sang a beautiful solo Open My Eyes That I Might There were sixteen members present and one visitor, Mrs. Lloyd Pugh from Pickering. Mrs. W. Davis did the courtesies and a friendly time was enjoyed over a delicious lunch. Sunday morning was beautiful with signs of spring all around. Brooklin flower show Members of the Brooklin Horticultural Society will be taking part in a Spring Flower Show . entitled "Second Edition" on Satur- day and Sunday, May 14, 15 at the Scarborough Civic Centre. The show includes exhibits of house plants, spring flowers, arrange- ments and society competi- tions. "Second Edition' is the second flower show sponsor- ed by Dist. 5 of the Ontario Horticultural Association, of which the Brooklin group is a member. i i The show is open to the public and visitors are urged to come out and see the first touch of spring.
