This workshop was run under the sponsorship of A.C.T. (Association of Community Theatres). Little theatre companies from all over Durham participated in this one day triple faceted workshop including Stage Production Management instruction by Sandy Black; Acting Tech- niques with Ron Cameron and Make-up with Danny Jellis. Each of these separ- ate courses were excellantly run by these "Pros" and a tremendous amount of knowledge was brought back 'to Port Perry for future use. 4-H prize winners at Brooklin Fair John Finlay of the Minis- try of Agriculture and Food Uxbridge reports the follow- ing prize winners at the Brooklin Fair, on Saturday, June 4, 1977. 4-H Beef Calf Section: Best Calf: 1st - David Richardson, Ashburn, 2nd - Larry Phillips, Lindsay. There was about equal representation of Ayreshires and Holsteins in the dairy class. PAVING CONTRACT 7A Miller Paving of Union- ville has been awarded the . contract for resurfacing. a 3.5 mile stretch of Highway 7A along the Causeway east of Port Perry. Work on the project is scheduled to begin this month and is expected to be completed by mid-summer. Cost of the contract is $112,741. By Mrs. R. Heron (Too Late for Last Week) It was the celebration of the Sacrement of Holy Com- munion on Sunday morning at Burns Church, and Mr. McEntyre's sermon was taken from St. John's gospel 'Promise of the Spirit'. The Junior choir sang the an- them "God is so Good", and Mrs, Gerald Emm looked after Junior Church. Service next Sunday at the usual time, 11:15 a.m. and Church School at 10 a.m. There is a Father and Son banquet being planned for June 16th. So watch _ for further details. The sympathy of the com- munity goes out to the family of the late Mr, Al Chpistie of Epsom. At one time, Mr. and Mrs. Christie lived in this area and were active members of the com- munity and of Burns Church. We are glad to report Mrs. Jim Compton. was able to return to her home after being in Oshawa hospital. We are sorry that Mr. Frank Lynde is in Dr. Ruddy hospital, & Mrs. Lorne Parrott had the mis- fortune to break her leg and at time of writing is 'in Oshawa hospital. Wedding bells are ringing again in our community. Mr. and Mrs. 'E. Heron visited Rev. K. Heron and family of Guelph and attend- ed the North Collegiate band concert last Saturday. Miss Hilda Hopkins atten- ded the Women's Auxiliary meeting at the home of Mrs. C.
