Hopkins, took as the theme for' her devotional period, "God is the Father", and' Mary Irvine read the scrip- ture 1ésson. ; Mrs. D. Ashton gave a very interesting program on "Gardens" bringing out many beautiful thoughts on flowers, and the relation- ship of God in our lives and our gardens. : A social time was enjoyed by all over a delicious lunch served by Mrs. A. Fisher and Mrs. R. Batten and the hostess. It was good to have Miss Vera Leach back with us at the meeting after a lengthy illness. The Brooklin Horticulture Iris show was held in Burns Church hall. Tuesday night of last week. - Our local members received quite a few prizes. Congratulations are in order for Mrs. D. Ashton who received first prize for the best Iris in the show. Those who were unable to attend church service on Sunday morning missed: a good sermon taken from St. John 4, the J.B. Philips translation and entitled '"'conversation with Christ". The choir sang "He Leadeth Me". Service next Sunday -at 11:15 and church school at 10 am. All are welcome.
