Collins, execu- tive director of the Durham Region Lung Association, was presented with a silver tea and coffee service as a personal gift from members and friends of the associa- tion at the annual meeting held last evening. Mrs. Collins will retire at the end of this month. | ~ She also received a gold double-barred cross, given for distinguished service from the -Ontario Lung Association. On behalf of Dr. Matthew B. Dymond, a long-time member of the Association, who was unable to be pres- ent, Mrs. Dymond present- ed Mrs. Collins with a plaque from the Hon. William G. Davis, Premier of Ontario. Many surprises had been planned by the board of management; an invitation to her entire family to be present; and little Pamela Petersen and her parents. These kindnesses were very much appreciated by Mrs. Collins. Little Pam was the youngest child, not even three years old, when her doctor referred her to the physical conditioning course being conducted by the associatidn. Pam presented Mrs. Collins with a sheaf of roses. Mrs. Collins expressed her deep appreciation for the honors, the support of her family and her delight in seeing Pam again. She was given a standing ovation. Tentative date is March 30, 1979, subject to the approval of Oakwood U.C.W.- who will host this event. The treasurer, Mrs. M. Coburn, reported that the Bursary Fund needs gifts. Presbyterial Officers re- ported and following are some excerpts: (1) Task Force on Alcohol & Drug Abuse was given permission to go ahead with plans to bring the Youth Van from Alcohol & Drug Con- cerns to the area. (2) The School for U.C.W., Sept. 10 - 12 at Camp Quin- Mo-Lac.
