The weather has been warm and sunny so we were able to go swimming both Monday and Wednesday. Everyone enjoyed a long awaited dip in the pool. In honour of the day we all paraded down to the park and had a rain dance and arm wrestling. The cos- tumes were all excellent and as a surprise for every- one we had Kiil-aid and marshmellows. The child- ren also made tomahawks and head bands to coincide with the day. Next, week we'll be hold- ing Hobo Day on Thursday, July 21st. Playground would apprec- iate the items from the scavenger hunt as we are short of materials. LoC 4 PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, July 20, 1977 -- 3 Jail term for public mischief A Beaverton man who gave a false name and address when arrested for shoplifting, inadvertently: causing another man to spend time in jail was sentenced to 20 days in jail in provincial court Friday after pleading guilty to a charge of public mischief. Court heard evidence that William Pellerine 41 alias William Avery, had stolen an item from Canadian Tire Oftficer hurt in scuffle An OPP officer with the Whitby detachment suffered a dislocated shoulder break- ing up a fight outside the New Scugog Arena early Sunday morning. The incident resulted in charges of causing a distur- bance being laid against Robin Kydd, 21, of Uxbridge and Ronald Wagg, also 21 of Udora. store in Scugog April 50. He did not appear in court on the theft charges and a warrant was iy for "his arrest. He had been in custody since July 19.
