ALLAN HO 16 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, August 4, 1977 1977 Intérnational Plow Match Ladies' program largest and best yet This year's Ladies Pro- gram is expected to be the largest and the best in the history of the International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show, Joyceville, Ontario. To accommodate visitors, two huge tents will be erect- ed in the tented city, each having a seating capacity of 550 people. A highly skilled master of ceremonies will be in charge each day to provide continuity to the shows and create a friendly atmosphere. The show will commence each morning at 10 a.m. with music and song. This part of the program will be provided by local school choirs. Further entertainment of this nature will be provided periodically throughout the daily programs by pro- vincially recognized talent groups. Fontenac is fortun- ate in having several of these groups in or near the county. They include the Gadabouts, Sweet Adelines, Parr Christie Singers, Bar- bershop Quartet all of King- ston and the Swinging Sixties of Gananoque. But music and song is only a small part of each day's activities. The programs will include all sorts of demonstrations, using a combination of expert per- sonnel and local talent. A small sampling of the numerous presentations would include: An Oriental Cooking School, New ways with old standbys (squash and beans), Panasonic microwave ovens demon- strations,- men's and Creative STOP 68 Water Street - Port Perry COPPER TOOLING - MON., AUG. 8 PLASTER CASTING - MON., AUG 15 BATIK - MON., AUG. 22 STRING ART & MACRAME - MON., AUG. 29 WEAVING - TUES., AUG. 9, 16, 23 & 30 $1.25 per day, plus supplies CALL 985-7255 women's modern fashion show, the occasional yester- year fashion show, flowers and things (possibilities with flowers of every season) and many, many more.
