Dalrymple Agricultural Representative A very successful Judging Competition was held for 4-H and Junior Farmer members in Durham County on Wednesday, July 13th, with 72 4-H'ers taking part in the competition. The Competition was held in the Garden Hill area, with the morning program taking place at the farm of Gordon Wilson, and in the afternoon the group moved on to the farm of Bev Gray. Market lamb class was supplied by Jim Coombes, Bowmanville; while Guern- seys were judged at the farm of Gordon Wilson; beef steers at the farm of Bev Gray, and Mr. and .Mrs. Clarence Tink provided a class of floral arrangements which was a new type of Judging Competition, but was well received by the 4-H club members. In addition, the contestants had to ident- ify weeds, seeds and crops, do a quiz on various agricul- tural questions, and give reasons on specified class to the judges, most of whom are 4-H club leaders. In the Senior division, Paul Larmer, Blackstock was first, John "DeVries, Bowmanville, second; and Doug Larmer, Blackstock, third. In the Junior division, Francine Taylor, Enniskil- len, placed first; Leanne Van Camp, Blackstock, sec- ond; and third, Bruce Brown, Newcastle. In the Novice division, the section which the competitors have never taken part in the Jud- ging Competition previous- ly, Kevin Taylor, Enniskil- len was first and the winner of the C.N.E. Shield award- ed by the Canadian National Exhibition; Judy Virture, Enniskillen was second; and Roy MacGregor, Millbrook, placed third. The winner of the Bow- manville Lions Club, E. A.
