Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mc- Millan attended the funeral Bill Johnson hosts jamboree One of the best country jamborees ever held in Port Perry took place at Town Hall 1873 Sunday night, in conjunction with the West- ern Weekend activities. Approximately 125 people attended the show, hosted by Bill Johnson, of CHOO radio, as he and his group as well as a number of special guests entertained in a 2'% hour show. Guest performers includ- ed Ron Naugle, the "Mid- night Cowboy" at CHOO, Lorne Hachey who played and sang an assortment of comic songs and Sherry Black. Cathy James, Uxbridge, who performed in Mame last year, made her debute in a country music show and Joe Howe, a guitar player and member of the band from Brooklin, stunn- ed the audience with this ability to play and was call- ed for an encore.
