Av24 Wedding Invitations available at the || Port Perry Star |' 985.7383 Expect 60,000 spectators at Plowing Match Everyone loves a parade! And upwards of 60,000 people will have the oppor- tunity to enjoy one every .day of the 1977 International Plowing Match at Joyce- ville, Frontenac County, Sebiember 27th - October 1st. The daily parade has been an outstanding feature of the big match since very early in its history. Starting at 1 p.m. each day, it takes an hour and a. half for the parade to pass any given point in the tent- ed city. . Leading the procession, a as has been customary for many years, will be Roy Bennett of CKNX, Wing- ham, Ontario. He will have his jeep and amplifying sys- tem to help prod the big show into motion, ' All parades need girls and music, This year glamor will be provided by 30 mar- ching majorettes from Han- over, who will add beauty and excitement, Marching music will be supplied by several prominent bands. These will include Napanee Fife and Drum Band, King- ston Lions Club Band, a band from Ogdensburg, TERRY PAUL Photography 30 Franklin St,, Uxbridge N.Y. a band from Huron County, site of the 1978 match, plus many more that are currently in the negotiation stage. But there will be much more to see than girls, . bands and merchandise. Unique and interesting things will be included such as steam engines, antique cars, ox carts and much more. The 'Queen of the Fur- row" will have her own float as well as many other prominent people. . For many spéctators the, highlight of the whole par- ade will be the magnificent six and eight horse teams, Primped and polished they are bound to bring pride and a lump in the throat to every land lover, Larry Redden, Chairman of the Bands and Parades Committee, is a very busy Frontenac County dairy farmer. But he has taken time to put together a daily parade that should provide everyone with the opportun- ity to see 'a cross section of the whole show. He says: "This is another way for, exhibitors to show and visi- tors to see." 8526928 Weddings-Portraits ACTIVE TOMARMSTRONG - SEPTIC TANK SEPTIC TANK : PORT PERRY PLAZA - Scugog Island 985-8068, * PORT PERRY - ONTARIO * HOT DOGS | 7 Days a Week ) 985-2226 579-7324 * SUBMARINES KEN LUKE R.R.
