First goal in the first half was an Andy Systsma classic. He repeated with the second from the same area of the field before half time, assisted by Barry Yeo. Although Andy scored the goals players such as Scott West, Adam Nicholishen, Peter Hoogers, Barry Wil- lerton from the foreward line all played outstanding soccer backed up by the half-backs and full-backs who have definately tome a long way since the beginn- ing of the season. Boys such as Kevin Jones, Ted Sterman, Tony Bertrand, Barry Yeo and Jeff Carney. Come next season our other players will start showing their potential. So keep on trying Morita and Michael Kersten, Chris Mc- Connell and Danny Hope. And of course we cannot forget our fantastic goal- keeper, Jay Branton. He's no turkey. Third and last goal scored again by Andy from can you believe it, a corner kick. Bombers play again in Uxbridge September 1st 7 p.m. Big catches of fish during Scugog survey This summer has been a busy field season for the Kawartha Lakes Fisheries Assessment Unit. Startingin May on Lake Scugog, the unit began by studying fish populations for seven weeks using trapnets which allowed release of fish unharmed. Catches of fish from the lake were so heavy that no more than six locations could be fished at any one time. Total catch for this' period was over 11,000 fish with the most numerous species' in the catch being 4,800 yellow pickerel. Catches in descen- ding numerical order after pickerel were pumpkinseed, bullhead, rockbass, large- mouth bass, smallmouth bass, carp, maskinonge, perch and common white suckers. Catches from Lake Scugog have been excellent and all species appear in healthy condition. Also starting in May, a creel census program was initiated on Sturgeon Lake (continued on page 21) TREASURE CORNER 108 Water Street - Port Perry » 985-8226 We feature: HANDCRAFTS "© CROCHET DOILIES o KNITTING 8 o BRAIDED RUGS o BABY GIFTS o MACRAME o CLOTH TOYS Special | Sale Table" & = NEW HOURS: Mon. to Sat. 9a.m. 109 p.m. Open Thurs. & Fri, Evenings to? p.m. Sundays 1toSp.m. Beginning September 6,1977 all Ontario speed and distance signs will go metric.
