Born in North- umberland County he was the son of the late Sanford Fenton and Emma Locke. Beloved husband of Marion, and the loving father of - William of Nova Scotia; Gerald, Mrs. Ruth Jenn- ings; (Barbara) °'Mrs. Ed. Lachowicz, all of Toronto; Mrs. Margaret Kehoe; (Kathleen) Mrs. Ronald Puffer; Ernon (Sonny); (Reta) © Mrs. Douglas Grandy; (Donna) Mrs! Kenneth Nicholls; Mrs. Sharon Malcolm, all of Oshawa; (Carol) Mrs. Glenn Harsell of Uxbridge; (Doreen) Mrs. Joseph Walsh of Marysville; (Brenda) Mrs. Lorne W. Cardoza of Port Hope. Lov- ing grandfather of 30 grand- children and 10 great-grand- children. Brother of Harry of Colborne, Mrs. Irene Caldwell of Toronto; (Mar- jorie) Mrs. James Hough- taling of Cobourg and pre- deceased by two sisters, Edna and Marion. %- Mr. Fenton worked for the e Canadian National Railway for over 41 years. He was a member of the Royal Blue Ray Chapter Blue Ray Chapter "members attending the Grand Chapter Sessions, Order of the Eastern Star, + held in the Canadian Room, Royal York: Hotel, Toronto, during the past week were: Sister Mabel Cawker (Worthy Matron), Brother Sam Cawker, (Worthy Patron) of Nestleton, Sister Stella Dennis (Associate Matron), Sister Marjorie McCombe (Associate Con- ductress) of Port Perry, and Sister Betsy. Staniland (Secretary) of Bldckstock. Groves, Mr. Ray Wren, Mr, W.R. Weir, Mr. C. Nightin- gale, Mr. F. Leveck, Mr. A. Sherwood all members of the Canadian Branch 419. The flower bearers were grandchildren, David Walsh, Elaine Harsell, Elizabeth Jennings, Debbie Legion, Puffer, Sandra Fenton and Ju Helen Grandy. Funeral services by Rev. Robert Brawn were held at McDermott-Panabaker with interment at Pine A Grove Cemetary. Horne Claude Horne former Mitch- el Mayor and latterly of 583 'P Barber Ave., Listowell pass- & ed away at Listowell Mem- orial Hospital on Thursday, September 8, following a brief illness. He was born in Reach Township, Con. 12 in a Cen- tennial Home on Jan. 10, 1899, a son of the late Joshua Horne and the former Janet Swanick. On Oct. 9, 1939, he was married to Clara E. Fortune who survives with one brother Richard Horne in Toronto and two sisters, Mrs. Mona Mero, Uxbridge and Mrs. Laura Waddell, Brampton. He was prede- ceased by one sister Gerald- ine Horne, R.N. and one brother Gordon. ' Mr. Horne had practised law in Mitchell for over 30 years retiring in 1960. He was a member of Mitchell town council for several years and acted as Mayor from 1951 to 1953. He served as an elder of Knox Presby- terian Church of which he was a member. He belonged to Todor Lodge, No. 141 AF. and A.M., Mitchell and St. Elmo Preceptory No. 22 Stratford. The past five years he had resided in Listowel. The late Mr. Horne rested at the Lockhart Funeral Home in Mitchell where the funeral and committal services were held on Mon- day, September 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wallace Murray officiating. Interment was in Knox Presbyterian Cemetery. Pattersons of Port 197 QUEEN STREET 985-8332 at their first Attic Sale.
