Public meeting in Latcham Centre A public meeting will be held by the Canada-Ontario Rideau-Trent-Severn. (CORTS) Advisory Commi- tee at Port Perry, in the Latcham Centre, Water and Queen Streets, on Tuesday, October 4, 1977, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is a continuation of the public meetings to be held this year along the waterway from Ottawa to Port Severn. 150 babies born in hospital First meeting of the fall season for the Hospital Auxi- liary was held on September 19 at the hospital with 26 ladies present. Meeting was called to order by president Mrs. Pugh and the Auxiliary prayer repeated in unison. Minutes of June meeting were read by the secretary and adopted. A report on the general finances was given by the -rreasurer which showed a healthy balance on hand. Correspondence included 15 thank you notes for boot- ees received by new babies "and thank-you for money donations. Mrs. Webster reported 164 phirs bootees turned in since January and 82 girls and 69 boys born at hospital so far this year. A letter was read from Mr. and Mrs. H. Short thanking the auxiliary for _the pleasant weekend spent at the Lord Simcoe Hotel. This was made possible when Mrs. Short 'held the winning ticket at th Spring Fashion Show. Appreciation _was expressed for the dona- tion which accompanied this letter. Mr. Brown attended the meeting and introduced Mrs. Faye Taylor the new director of nursing who succeeds Mrs. Jenny White. Mr. Brown also expressed his appreciation to the auxiliary for the new draperies which adorn the hospital windows. He stat- ed that the remainder of the new drapes would arrive in near future when this pro- ject of the auxiliary would be completed. Annual meeting will . be Nov. 21 at 8 pm. More particulars later. Mrs. Crosier reported on the finances of the Tuck Shop showing sales "quite encouraging. = Mrs. Mec Dermott reported too that there had been 10 candy- stripers during ~~ the summer. -- This program was working out very well and these girls will continue this hospital program out of school hours. Several articles of knit- wear was received from friends also donation of stuffed animals for the Tuck. Shop and a layette from Seagrave U.C.W. For these dcnations we are most grateful. A lovely afghan and pillow knit by one of our .members was on display. Tickets at 50 cents each will be on sale at hospital or from any of the members and draw will be at the - anniversary tea on October 22.
