Brawn officiated at the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Potts of 132 Union Avenue, Port Perry. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wassler of 549 Cubert Street in Oshawa. Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride wore a full length A-line gown of satin faced organza beautifully trimmed in Venice lace. Featuring '"'U* neckline with high back collar, bishop sleeves, empire waist and an attach- ed chapel train. A headpiece of fabric flowers, a three tiered illus- ion veil with scalloped edge and lace trim. Jennifer Crews of Port of Wassler Perry was the maid of hon- our. Bridesmaids were Donna Brain of Prince Albert; Melody Train of Caesarea and Sylvia Wassler, sister of the groom. Flower girls were Anita and Deanna Wassler, also sisters of the groom. Danny Gingras of Oshawa was best man. Frank Bruni of Oshawa, Steve Bochenski of Oshawa and Doug Potts of Port Perry brother of the bride were ushers. Darrin Keft of Oshawa, cousin of the groom was the ring bearer. Debbie's sister, Donna was the soloist accompanied by Mr. Glen Taylor. The reception was held in the Royal Canadian Legion in Port Perry, Ont. The newly weds are now residing in Oshawa. Gouweleeuw - Smits On Saturday, July 30, 1977, Marianne Smits, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henri Smits, Port Perry, and Bill Gouweleeuw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gouweleeuw, Uxbridge, were united in marriage. The setting of this beauti- ful summer wedding was the garden of the bride's parents. The double-ring ceremony was perform-. ed by Rev. S. McEntyre. The bride's gown was white jersey trimmed with lace, and complemented by a large bridal hat. She carried a bouquet of white daisies and three red roses. The maid of honour, Miss Pat White, wore a formal gown of peach. The brides- maids, Miss Susan Mal- inowski and Mrs. Hilda All- ward, wore formal gowns of blue. All wore matching chiffon capes and hats, and carried bouquets of daisies. The bestmen were Mr. Bill O'Connor and Mr. Don" Bell. The usher was Mr. Gordon Smits, brother of the bride. A reception and dance was held in the Port Perry Scout Hall. Guests were from Kearney, Guelph, Beamsville, Mount Forest, Orillia, Whitby, Oshawa, Goodwood, Uxbridge and Port Perry.
