Blue Ray Chapter PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1977 -- 13 Install 1977 - 78 officers By Mable Cawker The Masonic Hall, Queen Street, Port Perry; was the setting for a most impressive Installation Ceremony, held Thursday, October 13th at 8 p.m., to install Worthy Matron-elect Sister Stella Dennis, and her staff of Officers for the 1977-1978 term. Sister Mable Cawker, Worthy. Matron, conducted the opening ceremonies of Blue Ray Chapter assisted by Brother Sam Cawker, Worthy Patron, with officers in their respective stations. Many Chapters were repre- sented and the Worthy Matron welcomed a number "of Past District Deputy Grand Matrons and Patrons of various Chapters to the East. Other visitors and 'Blue Ray members were" welcomed by the Worthy Patron. It was indeed a pleasure to receive two new members into Blue Ray, namely Sister Blanche and Brother David Baird. After a brief business period was concluded, the retiring Worthy Matron expressed appreciation to her loyal officers for support during the past year, and solicited support for the incoming officers. The incoming officers presented Sister Stella with an ivory engra- ved gavel, and the Past Mat- ron's Club gave her a beauti- ful Bible. She was the recipi- ent of many other beautiful gifts from the family, the friends attending and other Chapter members as well. At the close of the meeting a delicious buffet supper was enjoyed, convened by Sister Jean McDermott and her committee, concluding an informal pleasant evening.
