Port Perry Flamingos whipped Cobourg Cougars 6-2 in a chippy contest at the New Scugog Arena Sunday night. Six players shared in the scoring for Flamingos who got steady netminding from goalie Charlie Durward. Port Perry jumped into a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Dave Nicholson and Bill Owen before Cobourg got on the board with less than a minute to go in the opening * frame. Flamingos put the game out of reach with a goal by Dale Sawyer in the second period, and markers by Brad Office Supplies seconds pemnining in the third period. Referee Jerry Blodgett had his hands full during the game as players from both teams indicated a willing- ness to drop the gloves. Flamingos picked up 45 minutes in penalties, includ- ing- fighting majors to Jay Adam, Rob Evans, Brad Nicholson and Stu Cochrane, and a game misconduct to Mike Adam midway through the third period for not going to a neutral zone during a fight. Larry Landry was the main combatant for Cobourg taking on Stu Cochrane in the 'second period, and. then Jay Adam midway through the third.
