Seniors stage mock wedding for couple The Port Perry Senior Citizens had a hilarious mock wedding ceremony on Oct. 26 at Latcham Center in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Healey who were celebrating their, fifty- seventh wedding anniver- sary. The Officiating minister was Mac Whybrow, the singers were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kerry who did an excellent performance of "Let the Rest of the World go by" and "Let me Call you Sweetheart". Anne Wallace was the pianist. Flossie McNenly, the blush- ing bride with Lloyd King " 2 as the nervous groom. Bridesmaids were Doris Grierson and Ethel Robert- son. The cute little ring- bearer was Florence Midd- leton in a little Lord Faun- telroy costume, the little flower girl was Mae Why: brow with ribbons in her - hair and a real short dress. Stan and Flossie Plough- man and Marjory Whipper and Vince McNenly were the parents of the groom and bride. wanted to hitch up with her for the last three years was Marion King. Fred McLaughlin of Janetville and John Veld- huis of Newtonville are both school teachers. Mr. Mec- Laughlin is 37 and Veldhuis is 40. Both men have an active record within the New Democratic Party. Mr. Veldhuis is current presi- dent of the organization to save the environment from atomic pollution. Guest speaker at the nomination meeting will be Cliff Pilkey, president of the Ontario Federation of Labour.
