Mr. Plitz told regional council that soil tests under- taken in the area by the firm of Don Wesley Milne indicat- ed that 19 new lots could be. supported, and that Jacob- sen was prepared to build on lots large enough to contain a reserve lile system. He added that a survey of the hamlet taken this summer by the company indicated that of 25 persons, 18 said they had no objection to the proposed development. However, Mr. Mees said that many of these people changed their mind when told of the negative planning report which indicated that the soil conditions might not be suitable. He said he has collected 19 signatures of people within the hamlet who now feel "that the welfare of existing residents of Ulica should have precedence over a proposal for expansion." The decision taken last week by regional council to allow ten new homes seems to be unsatisfactory to both the development company and the 'eongerned citizens. Jacobsen C truction may not feel it can develop the land if the growth is limited to ten houses, and Mr. Croxall said after the meeting last week that he fears that if the company does go ahead with the ten houses, it will then seek permission to build more at a later date. And Mr. Croxall added that even ten new houses would be detrimental to the community and its citizens. i RON HEWAT LAKEVIEW PLAZA Scugog Street §| LOWREY 'Organs & Pianos ORGAN WORLD at 985-8365 Port Perry RINE Ties from $5.00 iit Belts from 10.00 Shirts from *14.00 Gloves from 5.00 Pyjamas from $15.00 Sport Shirts from *11.00 "Sweaters from $25.00 ONLY 4 SHOPPING DAYS LEFT BEFORE CHRISTMAS! .
