SWAMP AUTO BODY Doug Robinson - Bruce McCreight Children's Christmas Stories MY BEST CHRISTMAS My best Christmas is candies and presents. But I don't want too many candies and I want about 38 presents _ this Christmas. I really like Christmas because you can get lots of goodies and lots of presents, too. Sometimes we might cele- brate Christmas Eve. Once my family and I went to my aunts house and we opened - our present up there from them. I like having Christ- mas because sometimes I ,get up early. I like waking up early and opening up the presents first. Last year I woke mom and my sister, then my dad. Merry Christ- mas and a Happy New Year. Lisa Midgley, Grade 5, R. H. Cornish P.S. CHRISTMAS CHEER Christmas is a happy time for children and adults alike. In fact Christmas is a happy time for all. Christmas is a fun time for taring off papers. Christmas is a time for getting together all of your family. For hanging stockings by the fireplace. Christmas is also for cele- brating Jesus's birthday. Remember the 3 wise men giving Jesus -his first pre- sents? I guess that is the real beginnins of Christmas. Janis Stephens, Grade 5, R.H. Cornish P.S. Wishing you Happy Holidays as h Christmas lights the world! Thanks all. GEORGE L. SMITH Barrister & Solicitor WHO IS THE JOLLY = OLD MAN? I know who the jolly old man is. The jolly old man wears a big red and a big red and white suit with big black boots and has a big pot belly. He sees little girls and boys before Christmas and on Christmas we, boys and girls, put out cookies and, milk for he can eat them. He comes down the chimney in the middle of the night and when he comes he brings a big red sack on back. In that sack are toys for girls and boys. When you wake up their be toys, presents under your Christmas tree. One more thing if you get or have a Christmas tree put it up before Christmas eve. Now do you know who he is? Think hard now! It is Santa Claus! Susan Phillips, Grade 5, R.H. Cornish P.S. I BELIEVE IN SANTA CLAUS 1 didn't believe in Santa Claus, I thought he was just make-believe. It was Christ- mas Eve and I was in bed, but wasn't asleep. I was thinking about the next day - CHRISTMAS, and all the _ toys, games, and clothes I would get (hopefully). I fell asleep - and when I woke up (in the middle of the night) I was thirsty, I went out to the kitchen and got a drink of water. I was'walking back to my bedroom when I heard something come down the chimney. I also heard some Ho, Ho, Ho's. I went to the chimney and there was Santa. He asked me - '"'Are you the one who didn't believe in me?" "Y-y-yes," I stuttered. "Do you, now?" he asked. '""Y-y-yes" I stut- tered again. He asked me if I would help him put out everybody's presents but mine. When he came to mine, he said, "Now get to bed." And from then on I believed in Santa Claus. Jan Simmonds, Grade 6, Epsom P.S.
