Ringette League by Judy Young - The first game on Satur- day was a real cliff-hanger that ended in a three-three tie between Country Village and Young Dominion Hard- ware. The lines were divided on each team to have the Tween Age Group (11-12 year olds) and Jr. Belles (13-14 yr. olds) play against each other. This provided much more even play and sharper competition. 'Scoring for the Jean Machine ~~ were Paula Haugen with two goals and one assist and Jackie Abra- ham with a goal and an assist. Janice Jackman is also credited with an assist. The Hardware Gang's scoring was handled by Karen Young with two goals and Wendy McDougall with one goal and an assist. Brenda Foote and Sharon Ashmore each got an assist. Ringette Sportmanship award and sundae from the Dairy Bar went to Brenda Foote for Dominion Hard- ware and Bonnie Bridge for Country Village. : In game two, Children's Boutique beat Young Dom- inion Hardware by a score of 12 to 9. At press time scoring statistics were not available, but the Sports- manship Award for Child- ren's goes to Connie South- ern for her super efforts for Ringette. Watch for further details on an exhibition match of Ringette on February 12 at the Junior '"'C"' game at the New Arena.
