The Port Perry Star, along with hundreds of other community newspapers, rely heavily upon the eyes and ears of 'country correspondents' to record the news from the many hamlets throughout the township. Each year, as some of our faithful correspondents for many years decide to retire from the job, it becomes harder and harder to find suitable replace- ments. This condition is not unique to the Star, but to all weeklies. The correspondents are the lifeline of the commun- ity, and their job of recording the events is an important one. : : Presently, the Port Perry Star is looking for a correspondent to write about the people in the Nestle- ton-Caesarea area, as well as Prince Albert. If you would be interested, or know of someone else, contact the Star by mail at Box 90, Port Perry, or by phoning 985-7383. We'd like to hear from YOU. x 3 ne Bam 220 COCHRANE ST.. | SIEBE REKKER @ ~ Bill Newman M-P-P- (Durham-York) Kelly Goreski of RR 2 Ashburn competed Sunday, January 29 at the eight mile snowmobile drag races at the annual Winter Carnival in Minden, Ontario.
