Our sympathy to the family- of the late Harry Geer of Prince Albert. He will be missed by his wife Norma, his children Kenneth, Lind, mother - Mrs. Elwood Tripp and many other relatives and a host of friends. A history of Memory Hall, Utica was most interesting. Many old time pictures . were handed around. There _ was one of Bethesda Quar- .tette - Mr. Stan Ward, Mr. Clifford Croxall, Mr. Leon- ard and Ewart Blight with Mrs. C. Croxall their accompanist. There were deeds for the sale of land: known as Clergy Reserves. The land was bought for 50 pounds and dated in the 18th year of the reign of Queen Victoria. . There were family histor- ies. Histories of farms naming all the owners and families from a hundred years. Our programme was also very delightful as Mrs. Ted Hall came and brought her greatest desire of a Christian is to do the Lord's will and live in obedience to Him. Wives and mothers have a task in their homes to teach their children the right way 'in their studies and training. Just as it is said in our motto. Mrs. Haan concluded the Programme by repeating a well loved hymn ""O Master Let Me Walk with Thee". Mrs. Alice Barthaw conduct- ed an interesting contest with the word "Valentine" followed by the singing of the Institute Grace and the National Anthem, Mrs. -Haan and her group served dainty refreshment and tea. One of the big things in" human contacts is everyday pleasantness and the Women's Instifute is proud. of the part they play in this creation, as a team of women working together helping each other to win a better life for themselves, their families and for all humankind. Meyers and Mrs. T.: Carter. i T . Last week Mrs. Arthur Power had a birthday party for son Danny. His guests were Robert Taylor, George Luke, Matthew and Mark Barnes, Jeffrey Begin. Of course these young gentle- men were accompanied by their mothers, but all had a wonderful time. On Sun. the Toronto North Lions Club and friends had a marvellous day at the . home of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Potter, Jeffrey and Chris. They participated in: all types of winter sports. There were about forty present to enjoy the supper of chili, salads and other goodies prepared by their hostess. Uxbridge Lions were represented by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Prentice and chiidren. Julie, Robert and Jamie Ashton had supper with Grandma and Grandpa Ash- ton on Sunday. Mr. T. Eyers was supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ashton on Tuesday. Mr. Kenneth Jeffery of Parry Sound visited his brother, Gordon for a few days last week.' Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor visited the Farm Machinery Show at the Coliseum in Toronto one day last week. John, Ray and Ruth Taylor enjoyed a weekend visit with their parents. The Ladies Woodsmen's team (of which Miss Ruth Taylor is a member) from Sir Sandford Fleming College at Lindsay took part in competition last week at - McGill Unviersity, Montreal and placed first. quite an achievement as there were competitiors from the Maritimes and the U.S. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Evans and Wendy called on his uncle, Mr. Joseph St.John of. Sunderland on Sun. on the occasion of his 89th birth- day. The Bethesda Reach 4-H group will start their course Forcus on Living next Sat- urday at 9:15 at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Doble. There are several interesting crafts to be taught. The leaders found this to a most interesting course. Mrs. Earl Wilson and Mrs. Dennis Irwin were in Toronto on Wed. to attend a shower at Spring Garden Baptist Church for Miss: Joyce Wilson. This church will be the scene.for Joyce's wedding in the near future. -* Mr; and Mrs. Lee Davies' and children, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Clow were Saturday . evening guests with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ashton and family. Mr. Kerry visited in Kingston with Mrs, Kerry's cousins Mr. and Mrs. E. Scrannage recently.
